Your child isn’t giving you a hard time — they’re having a hard time.
In this workshop, I’ll teach you how the developing brain actually drives your child’s
toughest behaviors and give you a set of practical tools to respond in ways that build connection
and long-term skills. No shame, no scripts that don’t work. Just brain science, Positive Discipline,
and real tools you can use right away.
April 29th - 11am PST on Zoom. Link will be sent upon registration.
The presentation will be grounded in brain science and child development and will balance education with practical tools. Topics will include:
What’s happening in young children’s brains and nervous systems
Why regulation and co-regulation are foundational for learning, behavior, and emotional growth
How adult responses can either escalate or support children during challenging moments
A Positive Discipline framework that supports both connection and boundaries
Concrete, age-appropriate tools parents can use right away at home
My goal is for parents to leave feeling more confident, less overwhelmed, and with a clearer understanding of why certain behaviors show up at this age and how to respond in ways that actually help.
Alexis Gentry, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker, parent coach, mom of two and Positive Discipline educator who supports families in understanding children’s behavior through a brain-based, developmentally informed lens.
